Area61 VideoBrowser Ver.5.0   FAQ

• If you encounter faital errors, try these:

Update your DirectX and Windows Media Player to the latest version.

Re-install the software following these steps:

1. Restart your PC.
2. Remove the software through Control Panel.
3. Remove the software directory manually.
4. Remove the registry key corresponding to the software. i.e., "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AREA61\..."
5. Remove "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\A61DataShare.DataShareClass\Clsid" registry key.

• If you failed to create snapshot images or you got unexpeced snapshot images (ex. a black image), try following actions one by one:

1. Open the setting panel, and change video renderer (VR, VMR, or VMR9).
2. Change "Color Quality" of your desktop through Control Panel. On Control Panel, click "Display" icon, and click "Settings" tab. The "Display Properties" dialog box opens. Try another Color Quality like 24bits and 32bits.
3. In terms of Divx movies, uncheck "Overlay Extended Mode" of Divx decoder settings.
4. In terms of MPEG2 movies, install GPL MPEG-1/2 Codec, and mark "Use GPL MPEG-1/2 Codec" checkbox in the setting panel.
5. Uninstall ffdshow codec if your PC has one. It doesn't allow directshow-based software to create snapshot images.

• Only Administrators can install the software.
• Area61 VideoBrowser doesn't support WMV files encoded with DRM.
• If you use ffdshow codec, Area61 VideoBrowser can not create snapshot images.
